Where are you based and how can I see your work in person?

I’m currently based in Saint Louis, Missouri, USA. My studio hours are by appointment only, but if you’d like to schedule a studio visit, email alena@alenaahrensstudio.com prior to your visit to set up a time.

How long does it take for me to receive my artwork?

All paintings and prints are carefully packaged and may require time for drying and/or framing. Please allow up to 2-3 weeks for orders to arrive.

Do you ship overseas?

Please contact me directly if you would like to arrange overseas shipping.

How are shipping costs determined?

Shipping costs for paintings are predetermined and will be $150 (standard 3-5 days) or $200 (express 2-3 days). Shipping costs include packaging and handling.

Shipping costs for prints vary and depend on whether a print is rolled or is shipped in a flat sturdy shipper. Costs for shipping works on paper may cost up to $50.

Do you do commissions?

Yes! It is vital to have an understanding of your space before creating an artwork. Please email alena@alenaahrensstudio.com a picture of your blank wall, the room, and any other elements that you would like me to consider (e.g., décor, colors, styles). Be mindful of the lighting and try your best to take a photo of the room in during the daytime/natural light.

What type of materials do you use and how do you finish your paintings?
I work with all types of visual media. However, most of my  work is created using acrylic and water based media. I occasionally include oil pastels, oil paints, and other mixed media as a part of my process. Canvas originals and some works on paper are created with polymer infused media which protects your painting from dust and light. For works on paper, framing behind a glass is best for protection and preservation.

Returns?

All sales are final. Returns and exchanges are handled on a case by case basis. I am not liable for any mishandling or failed delivery by the shipping service (USPS or UPS). Please contact alena@alenaahrensart.com within 7 days of receiving your artwork.

I own a gallery or store and I’d like to carry your work.

Do you work with art advisors?

Yes, I am passionate about creating unique pieces that compliment your client’s collection. Every artwork is hand-signed and comes with a certificate of authenticity that includes Alena Ahrens’ bio and artist statement.

Do you work with interior designers?

Do you offer educational programs?

A certification program in Poetics of the Selves (POS) will be available on a limited person basis in Spring 2020. The curriculum will include training in materials, methods, and the theoretical basis of POS.
